“As often as we receive, we proclaim the death of the Lord. If death, we proclaim the remission of sins. If, as often as blood is shed, it is shed for the remission of sins, I ought always to accept Him, that He may always dismiss my sins. I, who always sin, should always have a remedy.” St Ambrose of Milan #LastSupper #Sacrament #Eucharist #Sacrifice #BodyandBloodofChrist #Healing #remissionofsins #ThursdayoftheCovenant #NewCovenant #HolyWeek #HolyPascha#dailyreadings #coptic #orthodox

“Washing the feet is specifically performed by the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the One who washes the inner depths and forgives sins. A person who forgives those who hurt him through love and humility applies and shares one of the Lord’s greatest features. Such a person is counted as one who enjoys the new and blessed life in Jesus Christ. When the Lord says “…blessed are you”, He reveals His heavenly glory and life which we experience as we practice such acts.” Origen the Scholar #OurLordJesus #washesHisdisciplesfeet #forgiveoneanother #asGodforgaveus #washoneanothersfeet #Love #humility #ThursdayoftheCovenant #Liturgyofthewaters #HolyWeek #HolyPascha #dailyreadings #coptic #orthodox

Throughout history Judas was not just a person, but he became a symbol of whoever follows his example and his name represented shame on anyone who did what he did… we are definitely not selling You, and if they put the treasures of the world at our feet, we will always remember that You bought us with Your precious blood. Whoever sells You for any worldly desire will lose their Godly image, and go down to the level of Judas – H.H Pope Shenouda lll . . #coptic #orthodox #copticorthodoxy #pascha #dailyreadings #ourpreciouslord #ourtreasure

The Lord did not say: “ Do not make the holy house…” but He said: “ Do not make My Father’s House….” So here He calls God His Father. They were not angered because they believed Him to be using that expression in a simplistic way and did not understand these words except after He explained that He spoke these words to equate Himself with God. They then got angered against Him. ~ St John Chrysostom #pascha #lent #houseofgod #coptic #copticorthodox

“Let us also do likewise, and let us sing hymns, and give up our garments to them that bear Him. For what should we deserve, when some clothe the ass on which He was set, and others strew the garments even under her feet; but we, seeing him naked, and not being even commanded to strip ourselves, but to spend of what is laid by, not even so are liberal? And when they indeed attend upon Him before and behind, but we, when He comes unto us, send Him away, and thrust Him off and insult Him.” St John Chrysostom…
