“”The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” that is, the word of faith which we preach: that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:8-9 . . “God who dwelt in the Virgin’s womb to take flesh from her, desires to dwell in your heart to fill you with love. God’s preferred dwelling place is in you. God does not delight in heaven as His dwelling place, but He stands at your door knocking that you might open for Him… the blessing of the Feast of the Nativity is concentrated in the phrase ‘Immanuel, God with us’ so if you, my brother, feel that you are with God, and God is with you, then you would indeed be enjoying the blessed Feast of Nativity. Do not think that the feast is the day on which we conclude our fast or start breaking our fast… but the day from the spiritual point of view is communion with Immanuel, who is God with us… He is with me at all times and in all places. In every direction I feel His presence” – Pope Shenouda . . #dailyreadings #coptic #orthodoxy #holybible #immanuel #godwithus
