It was the first sin into which Satan fell when he said: “I will exalt my throne above the stars of God… I will be like the Most High. ” (Is. 14:13-14).
This was the first sin which mankind was attacked by, when the devil said to Eve: “you will be like God, knowing good and evil. ” (Gen. 3:5).
When the Lord was incarnated, He fought this sin through His humility, by taking the form of a slave and becoming like a human being in His appearance, and by being born in a stable, and permitting the d`evil to test Him.
