The power of our Christianity is closely and deeply tied to our faith and our relationship with the Holy Cross, and its apparition in our lives is a powerful force against the devil, materialism and worldly desires. The Cross is a power that transforms envy to love, revenge to forgiveness and flaunting to simplicity. The Cross then fills you with joy… Therefore, the Cross must be clearly seen in the Church, so our church also becomes bearing the Cross of our Lord; the Cross of service and missionary; the Cross of partaking of our Lord’s passions and glory; the Cross of loving EVERYONE and abhorring the world,…

Evangelists don’t just extend human beings’ lives a few years on earth. Rather, they guarantee unlimited numbers of years or rather an eternal number of years in heaven. They don’t open the eyes of the blind to enjoy seeing things for some time. Rather, they open the eyes of all to see eternal truth and enjoy the afterlife. They don’t solve the temporary earthly problems (actually they may add some problems to those who start believing in Christ and following His teachings). The darkness is being turned into light. There is not, as some heretics argue, a nature so alienated that it cannot receive salvation. Those who receive salvation, the righteous, are “the light of the world.” Those who refuse, the unrighteous, are in consequence called darkness. The difference and distance between one and the other is clearly seen by their own fruits. – Saint Jerome . #BeTheLight #ReturnToTheLord #Salvation #CopticOrthodox #Coptic #Orthodox #DailyReadings

The pleasure of evil is temporary but its pain remains. On the contrary, virtue gives lasting satisfaction and its labor is temporary – St John Chrysostom #narrowgate #lastingsatisfaction #dailyreadings #coptic #orthodox

God’s economy is directed toward a single end in each of these lives: our salvation and good repute. Even if it is divided in two with regard to time, it is united with regard to objective. Just as at first it is winter and then it is spring, and the passage of each season has a single goal – the ripening of the fruit – so it is with our affairs. – Saint John Chrysostom . #DelightInTheLord #GreatAreHisWorks #CopticOrthodox #Coptic #Orthodox #DailyReadings
