Since God is Love, what else do we have to be afraid of? God is the God of Providence: everything that happens is either because God permitted it to happen or God made it to happen, but all because God is Love. Everything that happens to us is because God loves us, and all happen for our good, even the seemingly evil. And because God loves us, nothing that happens to us can overwhelm us. – St Augustine . #Love #GodIsLove #HeLovesUs #GiveThanks #Psalms #DailyReadings #CopticOrthodox #Coptic #Orthodox

“He died, but He vanquished death; in Himself He put an end to what we feared; He took it upon Himself and He vanquished it, as a mighty hunter He captured and slew the lion.” St Augustine #resurrection #aliveinChrist #HolyFifty #deadtosin #coptic #orthodox #dailyreadings #KhristosAnesti #AlithosAnesti

Death is an intruder into humanity. When God created man, He created him for life. He breathed in his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul. God willed life and immortality for man. But when man’s freedom deviated towards sin, he brought death upon himself, because ‘the wages of sin is death’ (Rom.6:23). Thus death entered into the world, and all die. For this reason, the Resurrection rejoices us, for it is victory over death and the returning of life to man’s nature once more Pope Shenouda lll . . #dailyreadings #coptic #orthodox #resurrection #joy #victory…

Therefore seek heaven, and all things which conduce to life in the other world, and none of the things here will be able to harm thee, not even the world-ruler of darkness himself, if only we do not injure ourselves. For if any one deprives us of our substance, or hews our body in pieces, none of these things concern us, if our soul abides in its integrity. – St John Chrysostom . . . #seekhim #seekgod #seekheaven #coptic #orthodox #dailyreadings #yourfaceolordiseek

The apostle‘s words show with the utmost clarity that there will be a resurrection of the dead when Christ comes; and assuredly the purpose of his coming will be to judge the living and the dead. Lazarus was dead to men who were unable to raise him up; for the Lord roused him from the tomb with such ease as you would not rouse a sleeping person from his bed. – St. Augustine . #TheSecondComing #JudgmentDay #AriseFromSleep #Believe #Coptic #Orthodox #CopticOrthodox #Pascha #DailyReadings

“Enjoy ye all the feast of faith: Receive ye all the riches of loving-kindness. let no one bewail his poverty, for the universal kingdom has been revealed. Let no one weep for his iniquities, for pardon has shown forth from the grave. Let no one fear death, for the Savior’s death has set us free. He that was held prisoner of it has annihilated it. By descending into Hell, He made Hell captive. He embittered it when it tasted of His flesh.” St John Chrysostom #FeastoftheResurrection #ChristisRisen #TrulyHeisRisen #Easter #ChristosAnesti #AlithosAnesti #dailyreadings #coptic #orthodox
