If you are weak it indicates that you aren’t in fellowship with the Holy Spirit who dwells in you. I am not saying your weakness is an indication that the Holy Spirit isn’t working in you. Nay, for the Holy Spirit is working, but the importance lies in your response. Do you work with Him? Do you use this power or not? If the seed of wheat is the power of life, and this power becomes apparent if the seed finds the right conditions for growth. If it finds the right conditions of water, earth, warmth and light, it will…

And even if the demons are strong as mighty mountains, they are burned up by prayer, like wax by fire. – St. Macarius the Great . . #prayer #bewatchfulforyourenemy #dailyreadings #coptic #bevigilant

Great indeed was the faith of Abraham. For while in the case of Abel, and of Noah, and of Enoch, there was an opposition of reasonings only, and it was necessary to go beyond human reasonings; in this case it was necessary not only to go beyond human reasonings, but to manifest also something more. For what was of God seemed to be opposed to what was of God; and faith opposed faith, and command promise. – Saint John Chrysostom . #Faith #Abraham #Isaac #Temptation #HavingFaith #CopticOrthodox #Coptic #Orthodox #DailyReadings

“Before mercy, the doors of the heavens are open in a great guarantee. As a queen she goes in, and none of the guards dare ask her who she is, but everyone welcomes her at once. Likewise is the state of mercy. For real, she is a real queen that makes humans like God. It has wings and is light; it has golden wings with which it flies and makes the angels very joyful.” St. John Chrysostom #love #loveyourenemies #dogood #give #lend #hopingfornothinginreturn #mercy #bemerciful #heavenlyreward #sonsoftheMostHigh #ApostlesFast #dailyreadings #coptic #orthodox

“Whoever would truly be a follower of God must break the bonds of attachment to this life. This is done through complete separation from and forgetfulness of old habits. It is impossible for us to achieve our goal of pleasing God unless we snatch ourselves away from fleshly ties and worldly society. We are then transported to another world in our manner of living. The apostle said, “But our citizenship is in heaven.” The Lord specifically said, “Likewise every one of you that does not renounce all that he possesses cannot be my disciple.” – St. Basil the Great #forsakeall…

“Rejoice in the Lord, O ye rigtheous:” rejoice, O ye righteous, not in yourselves, for that is not safe; but in the Lord. “For praise is comely to the upright” : these praise the Lord, who submit themselves unto the Lord; for else they are distorted and perverse. – Saint Augustine . #Praise #Rejoice #RejoiceInTheLord #CopticOrthodox #Orthodox #Coptic #DailyReadings #Psalms
