“St. Paul is not talking here about those sins that we all recognize and confess as such. Rather he is speaking about preferring one person before another and making invidious comparisons of moral behaviors. Only God, who knows all our secret doings, can judge that sort of thing with accuracy. Only He knows what is more and what is less worthy of punishment.” -St. John Chrysostom #Pentecost #Coptic #Orthodox #DailyReadings #ChurchFathers

“Peter did not say “you are a Christ” or “a son of God” but “the Christ the Son of God”. It is not befitting to correlate Gods presence in our lives with how comfortable we are in this world. Problems and trials are not a sign that God has abandoned us. God allows such things to come our way so that we may receive blessings crowns gain spiritual experiences…and become purified (c.f. 1 Peter 5:10 James 1:12 James 1:2-8 1 Peter 1:7)… Therefore be strong and of good cheer during trials; do not let problems and tribulations conquer you but conquer them by your faith (c.f. 1 Peter 1:

Of things visible in short is there anything that endures forever? Nothing! No not anything in us but the soul and that we neglect – St John Chrysostom . . #soul #coptic #dailyreadings #orthodox #copticorthodox #orthodoxy
