She was saved by getting out of Sodom with Lot and her girls; but she did not continue all the way, for she regressed with her heart and thus she perished. Due to this, the commandments were strict in that we should not only begin, but to patiently go on till the end so we be saved. Among the words of our Lord Jesus (Matt. 24:17-18) “The one on the house top must not go down to take what is in the house; the one in the field must not turn back to get a coat”. Likewise, he who is exalted in the Lord to the rooftop would see the heavenly mysteries, and he would not go down to the bottom where what is temporary dwells there.
