“Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: “This people honours Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.” – Mark 7:6 If the Saviour has criticised those Pharisees, for their care for outer appearances, and not for inner essence; it is fitting for us, Christians, to have a greater care for the right behaviour; Why?! Because, as St. John Chrysostom says: “Because, our continuous meetings here, should not be just for the sake of routine; we should always gain from them some fruit. If you share in singing two or three psalms, and practicing certain prayers, do you think that, would be enough for your salvation?!1”
