Statement on the Al-Rawda Attack
The Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church, headed by His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, condemns the brutal terrorist attack that took place on Friday afternoon at the Al-Rawda mosque in Arish.
We regretfully mourn the loss of the martyrs of our nation and our hearts go out to the families of those who are victims of this despicable tragedy while praying for a swift recovery to those who have been injured.
We also pray to God to bless our country Egypt and guard it against this brutal terrorism, which we have never known before, and which Egypt rejects with a tolerance and civility that is deep-rooted in its people and history.
Joining its people and institutions in solidarity in its rightful war against terrorism, we trust that Egypt will remain an impenetrable fortress against which the conspiracies of its enemies shall break. God bless Egypt against all evil.
